When I first conceived of doing a political blog I knew that I wanted to use it as a soap box, a punditry opportunity to share my thoughts, beliefs, views, opinions and commentary about what is going on in the world around us… yes, this is a conservative blog, and yes, I amn proud to say that I am a “card carrying Republican”… but the idea was to make this blog so much more — to opine and give my views on many of the things that make me think, bother me, I find humorous or admirable… sometimes even commenting on things conservatives and Republicans do that I don’t find “cool” too!…

Over the past couple of weeks, as I have been posting I have been feeling out what and how I really want to run this blog… I launched it a few days before the Democratic convention with the notion that I would comment on their goings on and then follow it up with both the Republican convo as well as the rest of the campaign until election day (and then continuing on regardless of who wins)… I posted pieces that while fine in a “transitory” way have not necessarily made me feel that it’s what I exactly want this blog to be…

In the past few days I have been doing some fervent studying, looking at other blogs, platforms, punditry… defining what each has, what makes them unique, what attracts me to them (and those others that frequent them)… I’ve been tearing them apart, looking at the commentary, the structure, the following… I’ve been honing in on their angle, their message, their manner… and I’ve been taking lots and lots of notes…

Why?… because in seeing what is out there, what is being accepted and read and getting traffic, it gives me information that I can use in designing a blog that is on note, able to grow, but is also within the vision I have for what I want to deliver…

Over the next few days and weeks you will be seeing an easing in of how I want to develop and grow this blog… of the messages I want to deliver, the voice I want to resonate, the manner in which this blog, this site delivers its information…

I have a grand vision for this site, one that may, on the periphery, look grandiose and too large a task… but one that I know can be tackled and accomplished as long as I have a purpose of vision and a target on which to set my sights on…

We are new on the scene… we are young in life… we are still working on the baby steps for what AW will become… but be assured that we will grow, flesh out and deliver on our vision… it won’t be easy, at times it won’t be fun… but along the way, I know you’ll like what we deliver (whether you agree with us or not)…

And where will he give his acceptance speech? — The Pepsi Center in downtown Denver where the DNC has been holding their convention?… nope… not good enough to his highness Barry… too small to contain his massive ego…

His “ascendancy” to the crowned “lord” of the DNC will be held at Invesco Field – Mile High Stadium home of the Denver Bronco’s and seating 75,000 (with each and every seat sold out – with some seats going for $1000+)…

Barry will stride forth on a Greek temple set (I call it the “Obamacropolis”) and pronounce himself the “God” of the DNC and the “Caesar” of his party…

The Dems are “insinuating” that it’s designed to look “sort of” like the Lincoln Memorial considering that today is the anniversary of the Martin Luther King, Jr. “I Have A Dream” speech held at the memorial…

Maybe, just maybe, a choir of angels will sing out upon his coronation, lightning will shoot across the sky and Pegasus will sweep up Barry and carry him on its wings toward the heavens…

All Hail “God” Obama!…

Seems the recession is on hold… the economy grew 3.3% in the 2nd quarter…

But wait, I thought the economy (and all of us) were going to hell in a handbasket?…
Well… it’s not kettles of gold at the end of rainbows for everyone but it’s not the dreaded “recession” the dems love to yap about and are trying to use as a political point during their campaigns…

The reality is that the economic “downturn” is nowhere near today what is was during the last year of the Clinton administration when he had a “mini” recession (the GDP was -0.49%)…

So, is the sky falling?… the chicken littles in the Democratic party would like you to think so… but in reality, there’s still a lot of sky…

Like Debra, I have a good feeling there’s many more that will do the same…

Politics makes strange bedfellows of those who play in it… it’s sort of a “power” swingers party… and it’s only going to get stranger from her on in…

Below is the McCain ad where Biden has very little nice to say about Barry… wonder if he still believes what he said (watch Obama’s face during the ad, it’s a hoot – and catch what Joey says about McCain too.. it’s quite interesting)…

“The White House isn’t the place to learn how to deal with international crisis, the balance of power, war and peace, the economic future of the next generation. A president has got to know the territory…”

Hmmm…. that part above sort of sums up the problem with his running-mate Barry, doesn’t it?… He’s talking about “experience” here… of which Barry has zero…

Things are going to get interesting…

So Zero… er… Barack has made his choice for vice-president… Mr. Zero introduces Mr. Xerox…

And who is it?… Why none other than plagiarizing Joe Biden , the esteemed word-swiping Senator from Delaware (the Xerox speech king)…

As I write this it’s “not official” – they’ll be lifting the veil on this “worst kept secret” at 10am today – but a Barack “insider” leaked the word — gee, you gotta love those that tip before the “email” goes out…

Barry had a lot of people sign up to his email list so they could get the word first before the media did… ooops… guess it was too much temptation to let the MSM know about who it was before you sent it out to the suckers who signed on (including Twitters)… but, I bet, that this won’t be the last time that Barack twists the tables on his followers…

And what about Mr. Wordy himself, ol Joe?

He’s been in the Senate since 1972… ended up there at the age of 29… he’s got tons more experience that the guy that will supposedly be the “Commander In Chief” – a lifetime of experience more…

He’s also been known to make tons of verbal gaffs… the diarrhea loves to spew forth from his mouth… and he’s been well known to plagiarize material and call it his own… oh, and let’s not touch upon the bad hairplugs — my niece’s severely hairwashed “Barbies” have better hair than ol Joe…

Well, I guess congratulations are in order for Joey… it was fantastic that Barack chose you (sarcasm on)… I wish you well, Barry’s gonna need it with you… don’t put your foot in it as you normally do… keep the caca to a minimum and don’t make your boss look bad…

Oh, this is going to be a fun couple of months till the election… best political season in ages…

I’ve got my popcorn, a case of diet cola, a barcalounger and the remote… Let the games begin…
